Services for companies representing telecommunication sector are one of the main fields of MDI’s activity, provided since the company was established. Thanks to our long track record with this industry, we have knowledge and and unique perspective on the sector from the different points of view. We have particular experience as far as market regulations and business development are concerned.
For TP Group, which is the biggest company in telecommunications sector in Central and Eastern Europe, we prepared strategic advisory project regarding functional separation proposed by Office of Electronic Communications (UKE). The proposal of separation was concluded by groundbreaking Arrangement with the Regulator signed in October 2009. Other areas of our activities have been: UKE’s policy regarding MTR rates, or the consequences of selling new frequencies band by the Regulator. We have been also involved in international arbitration proceedings between TP and Danish company DPTG. We were also the advisor for TP subsidiary companies, which are subject to regulatory decisions, such as PTK Centertel (Orange) - mobile operator, and Emitel - the leading terrestrial radio and TV network operator in Poland.
For Skype - global number one Internet communications service, we were responsible for public relations activities in Poland. On this project we cooperated with nearly twenty other PR agencies working for Skype throughout the world.
Since 2002 we had been working for TELE2, which was the first company on the Polish telecom market recognised as a serious competitor of the incumbent operator. We implemented an effective strategic consulting project and conducted PR activities targeted at liberalising and demonopolising the telecom market. Later, we advised TELE2 when the operator launched its new services - line rental and broadband Internet access. Both services, for the first time in Poland, were launched thanks to the access to incumbent operator’s network, which was a great breakthrough in the deregulation and demonopolisation of the market.
